I love a good sandwich. A good sandwich makes you savor every bite. A good sandwich transports you to a world of unicorns and rainbows. A good sandwich can bring anyone to tears. Most importantly, a good sandwich can satisfy your every taste bud and desire. This was the driving force behind Michael Simhai’s newest eatery HauteMess. Simhai wanted to serve food so rich in flavor, that people would forget all their problems after eating their mouth watering items.
HauteMess is more than just a sandwich shop, it was inspired by European gourmet markets. Simhai, “Wanted to curate a special shopping experience where customers can buy a wide array of European goods, enjoy crafted sandwiches, sip on coffee and learn about imported wines.” The market has an extensive wine list of over 150 wines from Europe to South America, along with a wide variety of European cheeses, homemade pastas and lavish gift baskets.
All bread and pastries are made daily in-house creating a menu packed with rich flavor and essence. The menu consists of heavenly sandwiches, like the Mojito di Verdura (fresh mozzarella, fresh tomato, mixed greens, artichoke, roasted pepper, avocado and pesto), Cosmopolitan e Rosati (prosciutto di parma, fresh mozzarella, fresh tomato, basil, arugula and drizzle of pesto vinaigrette) and the French Connection (prosciutto cotto ham, brie cheese, cornichons, fresh tomato, lettuce and dijon mustard). HauteMess offers salads ranging from Mediterranean, Chopped and Grilled Octopus. For those wanting something a little lighter, sample the charcuterie selection. The Fromager has 4 cheeses, toast, jam and accompaniments, while the Carnivore serves up 4 meats, toast and accompaniments. Desserts are a MUST have. Expect buttery croissants, sweet cakes, robust tarts and my personal favorite, the delightful nutella cheesecake. All I can say is WOW. Wash it all down with a warm cup of Italian coffee or one of their popular iced or blended drinks.
