Since 1984, the Kitchen for Exploring Foods has been serving delicious, quality meals to SoCal residents. This boutique catering company prides itself on its offering “the best quality, creative presentation, and authentic hospitality… We love our clients and take food personally.” Each menu is tailored to your specific needs while the food is made from the freshest ingredients.
For those who want a high quality meal but want a more relaxed atmosphere, the Kitchen for Exploring Foods offers Gourmet-To-Go options. Office workers can enjoy the boxed lunches while the dinners are perfect for picnics and outdoor events.
Catering menus vary according to the season. Right now during the Winter, start your meal with Sea Trout and Bulgur Tartare on Jerusalem Artichoke Chip, Pulled Barbeque Pork Sliders or Vegan Young Coconut Ceviche Tostada. Entrees include: Beef Short Rib “Pot Roast,” Cider Braised Chicken Breasts and Thighs, Seared Salmon. Pair them with Champagne Rice, Roasted Yam Wedges with Honey Espelette, Lime Yogurt and Scallions, Sautéed Brussels Sprouts or one of their many delicious salads. I highly recommend the Raw Artichoke and Mushroom Salad – delicious. No meal is complete without a yummy winter dessert. The Kitchen for Exploring Foods offers Pumpkin Bars, Chocolate Caramel Brownie Bites, Marshmallows Dipped in Chocolate and Rolled in Graham Crackers and Vegan Blackberry Lemon Tartlets to name a few.
The catering menus are mouthwatering good. So what does the Gourmet-To-Go menu look like? Choose from the following appetizers: Smoked Salmon & Cucumber Ribbon Skewers, Prosciutto-Wrapped Asparagus or Melon, Caprese Skewers and rice paper summer rolls, crab cakes, samosas, sweet potato meatballs and Beef Yakitori Skewers. An assortment of cheese and charcuterie platters along with various other dips are available. Boxed meals come with chicken, beef, fish and vegetarian entrees. Sandwiches, wraps and salads are also on the Gourmet-To-Go menu. Cookies, individualized sized desserts, cakes and pies are made fresh daily for those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth. Stop by The Kitchen on your way to work and try one of their breakfast boxes. From the baked goods, smoked salmon, oatmeal, eggs and burritos, The Kitchen is the perfect way to start your day.
By far my favorite part of the Kitchen is the hearty portion of protein in each meal. Where some restaurants are more stingy with their helpings, the Kitchen is the exact opposite. They use hearty portions of meat in their dishes. FINALLY, a place that gets it! We all want a chicken salad with more than one small piece of chicken and shrimp dish with more than one piece of small shrimp. Thank you Kitchen!
