Los Angeles Haunted Hayride

Halloween is by far my favorite holiday. It’s the one time of year when horror is celebrated and all things scary reign supreme. Thanks to entrepreneur Melissa Carbone, Halloween fans of all ages can experience scares and thrills together at the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride.

In 2009, Melissa Carbone had a vision of creating the ultimate Halloween attraction – one that incorporated her love of traditional hayrides and horror. It was then that the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride was born.

This year marks the 10th anniversary and I can assure you it does not disappoint. From the moment you approach the entrance, you are immediately transported into a scary movie. A thick fog covers you and a chill may run up your spine as the screams from your fellow Angelinos are heard from around the field. Your first stop is the Haunted Maze. Around every corner is a different scary character waiting to make your heart pound. I wish you good luck finding your way out as the Haunted Hayride maze is designed to confuse and scare even the bravest of people.

The Trick or Treat exhibit is next. Be prepared to meet your biggest fears as you experience this journey from the point of view of the trick or treater. What lurks behind each door? I guess you’ll have to enter to find out.

It’s now time for the main attraction. From the fog emerges a tractor pulling a large cart filled with hay. This will be your seat as you enter the lair of horror. The ride takes you through Griffith Park amongst the darkness and trees.  I can’t give away too much but I can say be prepared to witness your most terrifying fears come to life. I suggest sitting close to a friend so you have someone to grab while you begin to scream.

Being a horror connoisseur, I have to give credit where credit is due. The Los Angeles Haunted Hayride is a fabulous experience. Melissa Carbone’s idea of the ultimate Halloween journey is great for all ages. The park is transformed into a big budget horror movie – starring you. The costumes, makeup, decor and actors deserve a round of applause.

Don’t like being scared? That’s ok. Come and have your future told by the fortune tellers or take a ride on the carousel. The Los Angeles Haunted Hayride is a guaranteed fun time for everyone. Hurry and buy your tickets now as the hayride comes to a close October 31st.
