Roberta’s Opens
The West Coast edition of Roberta’s is now officially open at Platform in Culver City. The creation of Co-Owners Brandon Hoy and Chef Carlo Mirarchi, Bushwick-based Roberta’s is known for its wood-fired pizzas and creatively-composed seasonal menus. The Los Angeles location will serve classic pizzas synonymous to the New York restaurant, as well as California-inspired composed plates and pies. The new West Coast location will also feature a juice bar-centric cocktail program, with fresh hand-pressed juices paired with small batch spirits, and an exclusively all-natural wine list alongside locally-brewed craft beer. Designed by Hoy and Studio Jesse James, the restaurant’s interior features murals by Southern California-based artists as well as artistic homages to pizza. Roberta’s wood-fired oven serves signature pies, such as The Famous Original and The Bee Sting, as well as rotating seasonal pizzas. The menu also includes San Diego Sea Urchin with Clam Broth, Polenta, and Seaweeds; Little Gem Lettuces with Red Flame Grapes, Shaved Red & White Onions, House-Made Everything Bagel Seasoning and Kefir Dressing; Grilled Berkshire Pork Collar with Pink Pearl Apples, Roasted Cucumbers, and Alliums; 90-Day Dry-Aged American Wagyu Strip Loin; and Roasted Sweet and Baby Corn with Tarragon and Black Lime. The Roberta’s team has created a light and refreshing juice bar cocktail program, which incorporates fresh pressed vegetable and fruit juices paired with small batch, local spirits. Cocktails highlights include: Zero Wolf with Blanco Tequila, Fresh Beet, Grapefruit, Lime and Blood Orange Juices and The Guy in the Kimonowith Aquavit, Fresh Carrot Juice and Caraway. At the Los Angeles location, Mirarchi and Hoy will serve an exclusively all-natural wine list containing myriad selections including: Anne Paillet’s Wonder Womanne; Giuliano Pettinella’s Tauma Rosato, as well as Frank Cornelissen’s highly allocated Susucaru by the glass, among many more selections. As for the beer menu, the team is working highlighting local brewers in the craft beer scene such as Highland Park Brewing, Modern Times Brewery, and Offshoot Brewery.
