RA_ Bar Beauty (pronounced rah, referring to the ancient god of the sun) strives to embody the same light, energy, and warmth as the ancient god of the sun! The three female founders created a positive space because beauty isn’t just about looks. It’s about radiating all the characteristics of the brilliant sun.
I visited RA_Bar Beauty in December (which was their anniversary) to have my hair done for a holiday party and I was wowed by this hidden gem. Tucked away, just off Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, their bungalow space is extremely unique and funky. With a mid century modern decor of floor to ceiling mirrors, dark hard wood floors, original artwork, the whole place has an open air and relaxed vibe. Sometimes going to the salon in Los Angeles can be intimidating and cold, but RA_Bar Beauty is the complete opposite. Everyone who worked there was friendly, funny, and enjoyed what they do. The positive ambiance had everyone chatted in one big group and laughing through out my appointment.
I sat down in Whitney’s (one of the founders) chair and she took my hair from lifeless to voluminous, beachy waves (that stayed all night). It’s not easy to get volume into my hair, but she clearly has the power to make it happen and has the power to make you looking amazing too. She was energetic, warm, funny, and obviously talented.
