Chefs Mary Sue Milliken & Susan Feniger Resurrect CITY NIGHT
Chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger opened a 39-seat restaurant off Melrose, CITY, in 1981. Now 35 years later, they are back to hosting the return of CITY Night on Leap Day. For one night, Border Grill DTLA will go back to the 1980’s with a prix-fixe selection from the CITY menu that introduced Los Angeles to signature dishes from Thailand, India, Italy, France, and Greece with French-inspired technique. Menu highlights include Roasted Black Cod with horseradish, lime and spiced sprouts; Stuffed Rigatoni with chicken fennel mousse and parmesan cream; Lamb Moussaka with pimento jus; Chinese BBQ Short Ribs with spinach and sesame; Indian Vegetarian Plate and Poona Pancakes; and desserts include CITY Chocolate Cupcakes, Lemon Hazelnut with lemon ice cream and Indian Pudding with bourbon sour cream ice cream (all served with hot Yogi Tea). $125; Monday, 6 pm; 445 S. Scratch|Bar & Kitchen will be serving lunch Tuesday through Friday. Live At The Library
The Library @ The Redbury continues its ongoing music series, “Live At The Library,” with a performance by local vocalist, Shana Halligan.
