LA Weekly’s Burgers & Beer
Get to the LA Coliseum for LA Weekly’s celebration of the pairing that never goes out of style. You will be able to try as many burgers as you want from three dozen burger purveyors and drink from an equal or greater number of breweries. Kings and Vagabonds Unite for a Cheese and Craft Beer Pop Up
If you prefer your IPA to be paired with cheese instead of a burger, then head to this pop-up! The experts at Vagabond Cheese Company will be working their matchmaking skills to educate you with specifically curated cheese plates to match your craft brew. Once a month, the experts at Vagabond will pop-up at King Harbor Brewing Co. with curated cheese and explore a different theme. Forma Offers Brunch
Santa Monica’s contemporary Italian restaurant named in honor of its star ingredient, formaggio, is now offering brunch. Starting this weekend, Forma’s brunch menu includes Pizza & Eggs made with Pork belly, two eggs, tomato sauce; Calabrese, two eggs cooked in tomato sauce with Hawaiian sausages, riduja, green onions and grilled rustic bread; the Frittata, Ricotta Pancakes, Nutella Bread Pudding, and Brioche French Toast. The Springs Monthly Wine Tasting with Vegan Food Pairing
The Springs, located in DTLA’s Arts District, is a one-stop-shop for wellness. They have healing massage, infrared sauna treatment, and relaxing yoga sessions that you can enjoy before or after the tasting. Angel City Brewery Celebrates the 3rd Annual Avocado Festival
Celebrate avocados at Angel City Brewery’s Avocado Festival, which was first started in 2013 and now this green-themed event has games, music, food, art and more. The Avocado Ale is brewed with avocados and guacamole-inspired ingredients like fresh cilantro, crushed red pepper and lime, is a refreshing ale with a smooth finish. Kegs of Avocado Ale will be tapped at the start of the event, and will be available at the Angel City Public House. Beyond the beer, Angel City has a full lineup of events for the day, including: Avocado Ale food pairings by The Surfer TacoBrewwingsSi Paletas & The Green Truck; Brewer-led tours with a focus on the Avocado Ale brewing process; live chalk art; specialty flight bars; Avocado Bazaar presented by Raven Gypsies; avocado corn hole; an avocado hunt; avocado photo booth; gallery exhibit by PJ Andrews; and live music in our beer hall by: Michelle E. This Saturday, enjoy Mia Doi Todd, who is performing from her latest Brazilian repertoire. Todd, a classically trained singer who began writing songs as a student at Yale University, expresses her distinctive voice through songs about love and loss and the majesty of nature. Todd has released 10 albums on both major and indie labels. Her Cosmic Ocean Ship (City Zen Records) was chosen by the New York Times as one of the Top Ten Records of 2011.
