The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles has all new summer events featuring the opening of the rooftop patio to the public for the first time in the hotel’s five-year history! Keep in mind, it’s reservations-only, but once you’re up on the roof with views of DTLA, you can enjoy seasonal wines, cocktails, and small plates.
Every Friday and Saturday through September 5th, nosh on Asian-inspired, a la carte small bites, and seasonal cocktails from WP24 Restaurant’s Chef de Cuisine John Lechleidner. The Menu features Roasted Kurobuta Pork Banh Mi with pickled vegetables, cilantro, and chilies; Red Snapper Ceviche; Grilled Prawns with coconut sticky rice, pickled vegetables and red curry; my favorite, Kurobuta pork belly (lettuce wraps with kimchi); and skewers of beef, chicken, pork belly, and lamb (which you will read about later). But wait, the evening gets even better. There is live Jazz! Yes, live Jazz, Asian bites, and delicious cocktails. Sounds like a great evening to me!
So, until September 21st, you can order up Sticks & Suds at Nest at WP24. It’s a pre-set menu of eight skewers (two each of the Kurobuta Pork Belly Satay with Gochujang, Organic Chicken Satay with Thai peanut sauce, Cumin Colorado Lamb Satay with chili aioli, and Prime Beef Satay with Thai red curry), paired with a Tiger beer, for only $20!
Then, move onto dessert. The new Executive Pastry Chef, Megan Potthoff, debuts a fresh summer dessert menu, incorporating local fruit with a Far East flare. New additions include mini “Klondike bars” with hazelnut ice cream and a hard chocolate shell, along with mini s’mores (with homemade marshmallows on top of a piece of fudge).
In terms of cocktails, they are all about the garden to glass here. The traditional cocktail series returns to Nest at WP24 through September. The three new libations source fresh fruit and herb ingredients from the rooftop garden on top of the hotel and include: Bangkok Berry made with Tito’s Vodka, Germaine Elderflower liqueur, strawberry, Thai basil, and club soda; Manila Sky Lemonade made with Ketel 1 Citroen vodka, Kalamansi, and lemongrass; and the 10 Spice Mojito made with 10 Cane Rum, ginger, lime, Chinese 10 Spice, and fresh mint.
