They are joining vegan powerhouse Follow Your Heart as they celebrate this winning combination of free vegan cheese samples that pair perfectly with Golden Road’s IPAs, stouts and ales. Rawberri Opens
Açai bowls are still having a movement. West Hollywood now has a spot serving superfood bowls (dairy and gluten free). They also serve a coconut water-based soft serve called CocoWhip, which is an Australian product and Rawberri says they’re the first place in the U.S. to serve it. Broken Spanish

Comfort Food, Los Angeles’ Culinary One Stop

Abigaile’s Beer Week
Blackhouse Hospitality’s Abigaile in Hermosa Beach celebrates LA Beer Week with an IPA Tap Takeover featuring $4 beers (Ninkasi, Stone, Oskar Blues, and Modern Times) for those who dine at the bar and communal tables. Chefs Tin Vuong and Jorge Valines will create a special R&D menu to complement the brews, which is subject to change daily. Plus, join in their Smog City Brewery Dinner of five courses with five beers. It will feature new seasonal releases and exclusive dishes from chefs Tin Vuong and Jorge Valines. Chavela Opens
This the newest Spacecraft project, located in Hollywood from Jorge, Walter and Eduardo Rodriguez, owners of Los Balcones Peruvian restaurant. This Peruvian style restaurant, lead by executive chef Rachel Carr is serving up Peruvian style sangrias and has plant-based fresh and vibrant dishes inspired by the flavors of South America, locally and organically sourced. Menu items include appetizers like Chicharron de Hongos y Colifor, spicy battered mushrooms and cauliflower with tartar; Pan con Aquacate, grilled whole grain bread, avocado, pink Peruvian sea salt, fennel, radishes, aji Amarillo salsa, along with entrées like Rocoto BBQ Sweet Potato with Peruvian bean salad, salsa criolla, and pan seared sweet potato cake; and Aji Amarillo Mac and Cheese with roasted red peppers, gluten-free quinoa elbow macaroni. For dessert, Chef Carr prepares a Coconut and banana tart with tropical fruit coulis in a date and pecan crust and a Chili Chocolate Ganache with avocado chocolate mousse in a cinnamon buckwheat crust, among others. There are also three to four seasonal traditional Peruvian-style sangrias called chavelas. Joel Black of Black LAB Ventures is overseeing the execution of Chavela’s cocktails. Bar Manager Josh Suchan will head menu development and daily operations at both restaurants. With a clean, minimal look​, the decor has natural wood, walls created by plaster spread on stretched canvas to give a cast of concrete effect​, and ​a floor of polished concrete​. Angel City Brewery Releases Desert Dreams
New brew alert! Angel City is releasing limited-time Desert Dreams, a one-of-a-kind beer brewed with organic black Mission figs, buckwheat honey, orange peel, prickly pear cactus juice and dry spiced with just a touch of desert sage. The beer was the brainchild of Lori Newman, the winner of Angel City Brewery’s ‘What Would You Brew?’ contest. BAMBOOZLED: Fact. Fiction. Art?
The Park continues its literary arts fundraising series with its latest installment, Summer Reading. The Gallery Theatre invites you to participate in its second BAMBOOZLED: Fact. Fiction. Art? event, with an all new lineup for an engaging, interactive evening, exploring the art of deception. Hosted by radio reporter Rico Gagliano and curated by writer Diana Wagman, BAMBOOZLED will have live readings by J. Ryan Stradal, Jillian Lauren, Gary Phillips and Naomi Hirahara. Then you decide whether or not each writer’s intricate stories are, in fact, Fact or Fiction? Prizes will be awarded to the winners. Walter El Nagar Pop Ups
Local chef Walter El Nagar has returns with a new series of pop-up dinners at Japanese Knife Imports in Beverly Hills. Cocktail guru, Beau du Bois is offering three classic cocktails revisited for $9 each every Thursday. Ricardo Zarate’s Pop-Up at Roy Choi’s POT

Rooftop West Opens
Situated on the hotel’s tenth floor rooftop, is The London West Hollywood‘s Rooftop West, a causal, modern dining destination offering unparalleled views of Los Angeles. Anthony Keene, Executive Chef of the hotel’s Boxwood restaurant created a summer menu ranging from light & fresh appetizers to sharable items, and an assortment of burgers, entrees and Tartines. You can hange out in the lounge or grab an intimate spot to enjoy dishes like Grilled Stone Fruits with Ricotta Salata and Avocado Toast Tartine; Lamb Ribs with Tiki Masala; The London Burger with Short Rib Blend and Truffled Mushroom; Spicy Beef Crudo and more. Employee Battle of the Beers
Which Angel City staff member’s beer recipe reigns supreme? That’s for the fans to determine. It’s all part of Angel City’s first ever employee brewing contest, ‘Employee Battle of the Beers.’ The three beers will go head-to-head as fans vote for their favorite after sipping a flight that includes a sample of each. The contenders are: Raspbanero, an ale brewed with raspberries and habanero; Citra IPA, a single hop IPA featuring strong citrus and tropical fruit aromatic notes; and Rosemary Honey Amber Ale, a classic American Amber accented with notes of honey and fresh rosemary. Thursday, 7 pm; 216 Alameda St., Los Angeles, CA 90012

Tanzy’s Wine-Paired Farmer’s Market Dinner
Known for sourcing seasonal California produce for its menu, Tanzy Restaurant in Westwood is partnering with Trefethen Winery to offer a 4-course farmers market menu. Executive Chef Bryan Podgorski created the following prix fixe menu paired perfectly with the wine selections from California’s Napa Valley. Rock & Brews El Segundo Celebrates Beer Week
The rock-inspired restaurant co-founded by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS will showcase King Harbor Brewing Company. As the winner of the Inaugural Brewery Bracket, King Harbor Brewing will celebrate with a Tap Takeover.
