I was lucky enough to jump on the poké trend that seems to be happening in Los Angeles and check out Sweetfin Poké, (829 Broadway, Santa Monica, CA 90401) Santa Monica’s new and healthy, California inspired poké restaurant and I immediately fell in love with the fresh and healthy fast casual restaurant. They offer both customizable and signature sustainably caught poké bowls (traditional Hawaiian dish – raw fish), as well as (vegan) vegetable and tofu bowls all crafted by the acclaimed, LA beloved Chef Dakota Weiss.
Sweetfin Poké is also all about keeping things local. They visit the Santa Monica farmers market on a weekly basis in order to find seasonal produce for their bowls, as well their fish will be mostly pole caught in a sustainable fashion – calling this their “pole-to-bowl poké”. Plus, what I love (being the artist I am), the interior was designed by Studio Collective with custom-made pieces all from local Santa Monica artists! It is truly a beautiful little spot with artistic touches on the seating, the light fixtures, and even in your bowl.
