The Springs’ Cocktails
DTLA’s urban wellness oasis and raw vegan restaurant, has launched a brand new menu of cocktails based on their popular pressed juices. Ranging from savory to sweet and each with a sake base, sample beverages include: Black Forest  (wild blackberry, kalamansi, green tea, yuzu, agave, flower petals), Smokey Mountain (lapsang infused saké, maple, maple bitters, shilajit, and orange zest), Fig Valley (vanilla fig almond milk, vanilla ice cream, nutme), and Desert Flower (muddled pineapple, cilanto, cold-pressed lantern juice, and pickled jalapeño).  The full cocktail menu is included here for reference. The drinks are launched alongside a new Chef’s Tasting Menu from Chef Michael Falso, featuring gourmet raw, vegan delights that will you will never guess are anything other than delicious. The Jolly Oyster Opens Second Location
Torrance welcomes oysters and clams straight from their Baja California farms. All shellfish for sale have been raised or fished in a manner that align with the following values: to be natural, organic, healthy, sustainable, non-GMO, environmentally friendly, and community driven. From the JO farms, you can expect Kumamato and Pacific oysters, as well as a wonderful cross of the two: the Jolly oyster! Redondo Beach is bringing back a Michelin-starred chef and upping the South Bay food game. Rize
This new bistro is serving up Thai and sushi with a decor of brick, mix-and-match wood, glass bulbs, and two bars. As for food, order up truffle albacore sushi, slow cooked pork leg, yellow curry chicken, golden soft shell crab, larb tuna tartare, salmon fried rice, turmeric sea bass, and kale fried rice. This fast casual Asian fusion spot is soft open in the
 old Vine Theatre and is perfect if you need something quick and easy. Vegetable include cabbage, bell peppers, carrots, that you can mix with beef, chicken, shrimp, and tofu. Culina to Launch “Crudo Hour”
Happy hour gets a refresh at Culina, Modern Italian this spring with the launch of a new “Crudo Hour” featuring special prices on crudo, cicchetti, cocktails, carafes, and drafts at the Cal-Italian restaurant. The menu will include classic Culina favorites, as well as new plates from Chef Mette Williams that reflect seasonal ingredients. Crudos like salmone with spring pea vinaigrette, mint and pancetta dust; and cappesante, fava bean puree, black truffle, lemon oil ($9 for three pieces) with cicchetti like proscuitto-wrapped polenta and shishito peppers with bottarga priced between $5-9.  Carafes from Wine Director Chris Bradford, along with new cocktails and spritzers prepared by Lead Bartender Alex Kitzmann, will also be priced at $9. Domaine Anderson Wine Dinner at Petrossian
Petrossian and Domaine Anderson are presenting a six-course menu from Executive Chef Giselle Wellman paired with wines from Domaine Anderson. Launched in 2014, Domaine Anderson is nestled in the hillside and mountain terrain of the Anderson Valley, a remote corner of Mendocino County, CA, and is dedicated to producing great estate-bottled wines. Selections from famed California sparkling wine producer Roederer Estate will also be served, and guests will have the option to purchase wine or join the exclusive Domaine Anderson wine club that night as well. Pacific Design Center’s 40th Anniversary
They are kicking off festivities with a WESTWEEK 2015 Spring Market -the West Coast’s definitive showcase for global design. For two days, more than 30 design leaders, 15 media/industry partners and nearly 100 programs, events, keynotes and product introductions energize PDC’s Spring Market and Anniversary Year. PDC’s growing cultural campus includes a arts program headlined by designLAb (owner and visionary Charles Cohen’s national arts program), which celebrates WESTWEEK with a site-specific commissioned installation by 2J that considers the history of Cesar Pelli/Gruen Associates’ groundbreaking vision for the PDC.
