Ysabel
I loved Lola’s. It had a special place in my heart. Hopefully this new restaurant (in the old Lola’s spot) from the Laurel Hardware crew will be just as heart warming. With A mid-century decor, this spot has a living room area, a huge patio with lights and some large sofas. Their two bars are serving up Charli (Rain Vodka, fresh juiced honeydew, cucumber & Mint): Lola (Red apples, lavender de Provence & Lime all sous-vide with Ketel One); Maria Linda (el silencio mezcal, pavan orange blossom, orange bell pepper and thai chili) and Peggy Sue (Karlsson’s Gold Potato Vodka, Middlebar Pickle Brine, Horseradish & Sea-Beans). As for food, their menu has dishes like octopus with turnip mash & mojo; azuri clams with vandouvan & carrot; and agnolotti with poblano & oxtail. 945 N Fairfax Ave., West Hollywood; 323.366.2940

Gravite’
Housed in the old Ambrosia spot, this spot is a brighter, more open environment with a healthy teahouse concept that has options for vegetarians, vegans, paleo dieters, and all you omnivores. Dishes include Curry Chicken Salad with turmeric and yogurt; Gravite’ Salad with seeds and avocado; and baked omelets. Salami doesn’t use salt (although it is available to add) or white sugar, and refuses to fry anything. (My kinda place)! They also has an afternoon tea menu in the works, and serve a curated selection of organic La Colombe coffee and organic Boulder Teahouse tea that is brewed to order. Open Monday-Friday, 7 am-7 pm and Saturday, 9 am-5 pm. 9107 W Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069
