Restaurateur Stephane Bombet of Bombet Hospitality Group and Chef Kris Morningstar, a judge on Esquire network’s “Knife Fight,” announce the opening of Terrine, (8265 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA; 323.746. 5130) a California brasserie, this December. Terrine will feature dinner and a late night menu at the restaurant, bar, and garden. Managing Partner and Wine Director François Renaud, formerly of The Tasting Kitchen, will curate the wine list composed primarily of French varietals to complement chef Morningstar’s seasonal California comfort food.
Designed by Bombet and Renaud, the restaurant has a layout of nearly equal indoor and outdoor spaces. The outdoor patio in the back of the eatery, which is referred to as the “garden,” is known as one of the best alfresco dining locations in Los Angeles, featuring a nearly 20 year old tree that is the focal point of the space. Inside, an exposed whitewashed brick wall is complemented by warm woods, oxblood leather seating, and accents of glass and copper throughout, including a copper and marble bar. The redesigned kitchen features a large window, allowing you to check out all the action. Adjacent to the bar is a large wood-burning pizza oven and a wine cellar storing up to 1000 bottles.
The menu of California comfort food will include dishes, like Duck & Mushroom Casoncelli; Homemade Boudin Noir; Fish and Chips, and more. Renaud’s French-heavy wine list includes 15 wines by the glass and a selection of nearly 100 bottles of whites, reds, and bubbles. The bar program will be helmed by Ryan Wainwright, also hailing from The Tasting Kitchen. Wainwright will stray away from traditional measurements and pour his own interpretations of classic cocktails, like the Jack Rose with apple brandy, citrus, and pomegranate; the Rob Roy with scotch, chinato, and angostura; and the Honeysuckle with aged rum, lime, and honey.
Open daily, 5-11 pm, and the late-night menu will be served on Friday & Saturday, 11 pm-2 am.
