New Port Seafood

New Port Seafood (50 N La Cienega Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90211) is a new Chinese restaurant that serves up a famous house stir-fried lobster that has people waiting in lines. Founded by Ly Hua and Wendy Lam, this location is open for lunch.

The interior is elegant, open and bright and also has patio seating. Don’t miss the tanks of live fish and shellfish…they did take extra time to install.

Although there are plenty of traditional Chinese dishes, the flavors tend to lean more Cambodian (where Hua and Lam are from), Vietnamese, and Thai. Other dishes to get you drooling include the signature luc lac, or stir-fried tenderloin (order it over a bed of rice); salt & pepper dungeness crab; shrimp with candied walnut; hot and sour soup with fish filet; and kung pao chicken. The full menu from the SGV original location won’t be offered here, but they will have 14 lunch dishes and about 50 dinner courses.
