Beverage Directors Jason Bran and Damian Windsor at Warwick (6507 West Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90028; 323.460.6667) have created a new summer cocktail list, that you will make you kick back and enjoy in Warwick’s new beachside resort, right in the heart of Hollywood.
These guys are dedicated to crafting cocktails. They even have a Warwick Workshop, a space next door just for cocktail juicing, mixing and fixing. After much concocting, their all-new summer cocktail list highlights fresh herbs and fruits.
The list is a refreshing collection of eight unique cocktails you may find in Malibu or on a Caribbean island. The Sub Rosa, kicks off Warwick’s new summertime sips, and is a twist on the Mojito that replaces muddled mint with organic rose petals, along with fresh strawberry and watermelon. It was a sweet, beautiful cocktail that is great to start your night with. La Piña Colada Gigante will require you to use both of your hands (or a friend to help). It’s served in a hollowed-out frozen pineapple and made with fresh pineapple juice, house-made coconut cream and Caña Brava Rum. There are a limited number of these cocktails each night, so get there early)!
If you like spicy, the Ja Mule cocktail is the way to go! It’s a twist on the classic vodka and ginger beer Moscow Mule, with the addition of jalapeño, mint, fresh ginger and house-made vanilla syrup. It’s perfect for a late night where you need to rally. The Warwick Cup #3, a Warwick spin on the classic Pimm’s Cup made with fresh cherries, grapefruit and lemon and is refreshing and sweet.
There’s also the gin-and-pear concoction known as the Jun-y-Pear, and the Basil Melon Smash, made with tequila, cantaloupe juice and fresh basil. The Apple Jack is a mix of whiskey with green apple juice and lemon and, my most favorite drink out there right now, the Bubbly Blossoms, is a combo of prosecco and orange-blossom liqueur, garnished with fresh lavender. It takes my usual prosecco to the next level.
So grab a cabana, bask under the white lights and grab a cocktail during a Hollywood summer night at Warwick!
