The Chestnut Club (1348 14th St., Santa Monica, CA 90405; 310.393.1348) is a sharp new lounge from the two guys behind Scope and Black Market Liquor Bar. The dimly lit, rustic lounge has black tufted booths, brick walls, exposed beams and Edison light bulbs.
As for cocktails, order up a Spanish Gin and Tonic, that comes in a goblet; The Chestnut Cup made with gin, Campari, lemon, and orgeat; The Ocean Park, combining Jamaican rum, pineapple, lime, ginger, and soda; The El Camino, made with rye/mezcal; or try the Del Maguey aged in Hudson Whiskey bourbon barrels. It’s a rare one.
