Manhattan’s hipster, family-owned ice cream operation Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream is rolling out its first west coast vehicle in Venice tomorrow. The exact location is still TBD and they will Tweet/Instagram where tomorrow.
Van Leeuwen isn’t about the crazy flavors and toppings. They are on the simpler side of things with top quality ingredients and flavors made in small batches. Their menu includes flavors like Vanilla with oak barrel aged bourbon & Tahitian beans; Earl Grey Tea with Rishi Black tea with Bergamot Citrus; and Mint Chip with Oregon Peppermint & 72% Askinosie chocolate chips. They also have four vegan flavors including Banana Nut; Chocolate Michel Cluizel with 99% Infini Noir; Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk; and Pistachio. The dairy-free ice creams are built from a coconut and cashew milk base with raw coconut butter, coconut oil and organic sugar. Van Leeuwen doesn’t use stabilizers and fillers.
You can also get your flavor topped off with whipped cream, house made hot fudge, house made caramel sauce, cocoa nibs and walnuts.
