2014 Cur-ATE Series at Ray’s & Stark Bar

Ray’s & Stark Bar, in conjunction with LACMA and in partnership with ArtBites, have announced the next installment of the Cur-ATE dinner series. Continuing to merge the fine and culinary arts, ArtBites founder Maite Gomez-Rejón invites you to enjoy a three-course meal inspired by the evening’s theme by Chef Kris Morningstar of Ray’s & Stark Bar following each tour.

Kicking off the 2014 program series on February 10th, explore the role of Parisian Café Culture in the intellectual life of 19th century Paris as seen through LACMA’s collection of Impressionist and post-Impressionist art with Maite Gomez-Rejón of ArtBites. After the museum tour, join in a meal fit for the avant-garde by Chef Kris Morningstar.

The March subject “East Meets West” travels to Britain where you will discover how South Asian artistic traditions were transformed by British colonization while viewing British decorative arts, South Asia sculptures and LACMA’s exhibition Princely Traditions in and Colonial Pursuits in India. After the tour, enjoy a meal blending eastern and western flavors by Chef Kris Morningstar.

May hosts “The Grand Tour” which focuses on historical journey of 1500’s young English aristocrats touring France, Italy, Greece and the Netherlands in search of art, culture and the roots of western civilization.
