The Formosa Café Revamp with Red Medicine

The Formosa Café (7156 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90046) is partnering with the team at Red Medicine to revamp the West Hollywood landmark’s menu. The project, Red Med at Formosa Café, is a collaboration between Vincent Jung at Formosa Café, Adam Fleischman and his AdVantage Restaurant Partners, Jordan Kahn and Noah Ellis.  Mark Tagnipez (XIV, Red Medicine, Momofuku, EggSlut, Trois Mec) will be the chef for Red Med at Formosa Café.  The new menu is the first of many celebrations for Formosa Café’s 75th Anniversary.

Formosa Café has been a staple in Hollywood for generations. Legendary Hollywood romances like Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner and Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner have all blossomed there. Formosa Café has been in Vincent Jung’s family for three generations and was originally opened in 1925 in a Red Car trolley. The restaurant became the Formosa Café in 1939 and the Red Med at Formosa Café menu will feature dumplings, bahn-mi, brisket and other Vietnamese inspired favorites.

Red Med at Formosa Café is expected to start serving by the end of January. The Formosa Café will be open for dinner at 4 pm and serving late night until 2  am.
