Originally from Nashville, this Neapolitan pizza parlor, DeSano Pizza Bakery (4959 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles 90029) is headed to our city. Marino Monferrato, former GM at Cecconi’s, is behind this place, along with pizzaiolo Massimiliano Di Lascio. Housing four 10,000-pound pizza ovens, this place is firing up pies at 900° like traditional Neapolitan pizzas made with ingredients imported from Campania. You can feast on the classic margherita, bianca or the San Gennaro that’s topped with sausage, peppadew, garlic, buffalo mozzarella, and caramelized onions or the lasagna that’s topped with meatball, ricotta, garlic, pecorino romano, buffalo mozzarella. Pizzas are $12-22 and come in personal-sized or larger sizes for sharing. You can also order calzones, antipasti, and panuozzo, (Italian sandwiches) which was brought to LA by Anthony Carron at 800 Degrees.
