Bar Jackalope (515 W 7th St #2, Los Angeles, 90014) is from Cedd Moses of 213 Nightlife (Honeycut, The Varnish) and is now soft open. Inspired by intimate whiskey bars found in Japan, this spot lives inside Moses’ Seven Grand (with it’s own entrance). Just head to the light switch button which calls for service in English and Japanese.
On the menu, you’ll find Cocktails, three of them. Basically, Old Fashioneds and Manhattans, mixed with your choice of bourbon and vermouth, plus their Highball, made with Japanese whiskey. They also have 20ml or 60ml pours of over 120 American bourbons, ryes, Scotch, and Japanese whiskey. Or, choose the booze cabinet, which has bottles starting at $250 and you can store it at the bar. Getting one of those bottles means you get priority seating and early reservation on one of their 18 seats.
Open Sunday-Thursday, 9 pm-2 am.
