Mall food has definitely gone next level in the past few years. Well, newly opened, Meizhou Dongpo (10250 Santa Monica Blvd., Century City, 90067; 310.788.0120) add to this streak! It’s the new Sichuan restaurant at the Westfield Mall that replaced Ummba Grill by the dining deck. This chain first launched in Beijing and the one in our city has a modern, indoor/outdoor seating aesthetic with a covered exterior bar.
The menu includes items like Bang Bang Chicken, Pork Dumplings, Dongpo Pork Hock, Garlic Chicken Wings, Kung Pao Shrimp, Meizhou Dongpo Sausage, and Scallion Shrimp. Signature dishes here are the Meizhou Roast Duck served with rice pancakes, scallions, cucumber, garlic, and duck sauce; and the Maine Lobster sautéed with ginger and scallion. You may need to save up for those as the Duck is $68 and the Lobster is $48!
