Ditmas Kitchen and Cocktails, (8731 W Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90035; 310.271.9300) is a new (Kosher) gathering spot opening on Saturday. This small wooden house is serving up Top Chef’s Alex Reznik’s recipes from his Ditmas Park, Brooklyn home. Grab a spot at one of the communal tables and order up egg-topped corned beef tongue parmesan sandwiches, beef tartare, house-made pretzel with horseradish mustard, whitefish rillettes with house-made brioche, duck consommé with smaltz matzo balls, a 24-hour braised short rib with butternut squash polenta, coconut milk curry chicken meatballs, and lamb belly carbonara.
Over in the drinks department, expect $8-13 craft cocktails like scotch with saffron, mint and lime. All of them are made with seasonal fruits/veg and small batch spirits, plus craft beer from the west coast and Europe.
