Bo Nuage, (8010 Melrose Ave Los Angeles, CA 90046) a new black & white, “high fashion”, patisserie specializing in nuage or cloud cakes ($6). The sweet boutique was designed by Jessica Marx of J. Marx Atelier and has a display case filled with colorful mini cakes as their center piece.
Founders Pascal and Audrey Achcar are from the same family behind Lette Macarons and this time they are focused on their cloud cakes, which are made in-house using organic ingredients. They are made from two layers of meringue, filled with whipped cream, then covered in more whipped cream and topped with shaved chocolate. The shop is set up as more of a takeaway spot with 15 flavors (6-inch and 9-inch versions) to choose from. You can wash those tasty cakes down with Stumptown coffee and tea. Open daily, 10 am-7 pm.
