Acabar

Acabar (7651 W Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, 90046), created by owners Roland Emmerich, Jerry Murray, Sue Choi, Frederic and Nicolas Meschin (The Little Door/Little Next Door) is a new restaurant and lounge. Chef Octavio Becerra (Palate Food + Wine) is behind the “Spice Trail” food.

Get ready to munch on Porn Bread (corn, aged cheddar, almond-honey butter) or for the high rolers, the $86 32-ounce côte de bœuf. For the rest of us, we can order small plates priced between $8-17, including assorted olives, and seared scallops with vadouvan-beurre noisette.

Josh Goldman and Julian Cox of Soigné Group are mixing up Acabar’s cocktail menu, and drinks are organized by era, like Archaic Era (1798-1830) and Modern Era ( 2000 to present).

Keith Greco of Greco Decor is behind design. He kept Dar Maghreb’s 42-year-old mosaic of Moroccan stone and intricate colored wood etchings, but he also remove walls, add columns, and a beamed ceilings. Open Tuesday-Saturday, 6 pm-2 am.
