The Larchmont, (5750 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, 90038) is from Robert Kass (The Kass Bah), Spoon Singh (Venice Ale House) and Mathew Cape’s (Vinolio) and it’s a new Cali farm-to-table spot in the former home to Larchmont Grill. Now serving dinner, the two-story craftsmen-style building has been overhauled to display a clean new beach bungalow aesthetic.
Executive Chef Cody Diegel (Magnolia, Caulfield’s) and consulting chef Don Gragg’s (Chez Panisse, Gramercy Tavern – NY) have created this menu, including Kale with pine nuts, beets, farro, blood orange, and ricotta salata; chicken “under a brick”; varied constructions of butternut squash, pork belly, and duck confit; and sides like fries and caramelized sunchokes run.
Steve Livigni (Black Market, Harvard & Stone, La Descarga) is consulting on The Larchmont’s cocktail menu and bar. They are open Monday -Friday, 11 am-11 pm and Saturday, 6-11 pm. Lunch, weekend brunch and Sunday dinner service to come.
