Happy Hour with a View

Los Angeles is known for happy hour. How can it get better? Let’s add a beautiful view!

Hotel Erwin
This beachside rooftop keeps it cozy with heat lamps and blankets. So cuddle up with your date and order up the Bartender’s Choice (the recipe’s a secret, but it’s well-known that this fruity beverage is tops) 1697 Pacific Ave.; 310.452.1111.

Petit Ermitage
Tucked in a nook between Sunset and Santa Monica boulevards, this plush rooftop dining area is intimate and ideal for couples looking for a romantic evening. Order up the L.A. Fresh, which includes fresh cucumber, honey, Lillet, and gin, topped with soda water. 8822 Cynthia St.; 310.854.1114.

The Hotel Wilshire
This modern spot has plenty of seating and it’s a great place to unwind. Grab one of the hotel’s poolside cabanas and order up the Bourbon Smash that has bourbon, fresh lemon juice, honey, and raspberries. 6317 Wilshire Blvd.; 323.852.6000.

Huntley Hotel
The Penthouse at the Huntley Hotel has been one of my favorite, sexy bars in Los Angeles. Keep it spicy with the Spicy Hot Margarit made with muddled serrano chili pepper, Paqui Reposado tequila, Solerno blood-orange liqueur, and fresh lime juice. 1111 2nd St.; 310.393.8080.

Bona Vista Lounge
This lounge sits atop The Bonaventure hotel, which actually rotates! It’s at a slow pace so by the time the sun has set, you’ve taken in a 360-degree view of downtown. Order up the Tom Collins which has gin, lemon juice, sugar, and carbonated water. 404 S Figueroa St.; 213.612.4550.
