Circa

Circa, 903 Manhattan Ave., Manhattan Beach, 90266; 310.374.4422) is a new restaurant that is mixing pork belly and charred octopus in with the ocean breeze.

Michael Zislis (The Strand) has Octavio Becerra (Palate Food & Wine) in the kitchen, Josh Goldman (ink.) picking the wines and Julian Cox (Playa, Rivera, Picca, Sotto, Bestia) behind the bar. So, get ready for a pretty good line up.

In the industrial space, you’ll find tufted leather and mortared brick. But more importantly, crispy pork belly; whole Baja sea bass; steamed lamb dumplings. Wash it all down with Phil Collins (the drink, not the man). It’s made with gin or vodka, lemon and grapefruit.
