Catch, (1910 Ocean Way, Santa Monica, 90405; 310.581.7714) Santa Monica’s picturesque modern seafood restaurant, introduces new lunch, dinner, and brunch menus from recently appointed Managing Chef Sven Mede (Casa del Mar and Shutters on the Beach). Mede’s new menus emphasize the natural flavor of simply prepared, market-fresh seafood dishes with both American and Mediterranean influences. The restaurant also introduces a rotating roster of jazz and contemporary performances, held live every Sunday during brunch (brunch is 10:30 am-3 pm Saturdays & Sundays, with live music 12-3 pm Sundays).
Lunch selections at Catch include Clams & Chorizo with garlic and Espelette pepper; a Maine Lobster Sandwich on brioche; and Organic Salmon with pineapple, jalapeno, cilantro, and capers. New dinner menu highlights include Grilled Spanish Octopuswith smoked potatoes; Cedar-smoked Tasmanian Ocean Trout with Weiser Farms carrots and a pink peppercorn vinaigrette; a fresh daily raw bar featuring a Half Dozen Oysters (both East and West Coast); and a collection of crudo (Skuna Bay Salmon, Maine Diver Scallop, Japanese Yellowtail, and more). Weekend brunch is divided into small and large plates, shellfish, and dessert, with a selection of specialty cocktails including the Bloody Mary with Shishito Peppers and the Catch Mimosa with Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur. Choose from items like the Dungeness Crab Florentine or Lemon and Ricotta Pancakes with blueberries and crème fraîche. A selection of boutique local wines and a market fresh mixology program complement all new menus.
