Hugo’s Tacos, (22917 Ventura Blvd., Woodland Hills, 91364; 818.222.7700) the chain that sprouted from Hugo’s Restaurant’s has opened its third outpost in Woodland Hills. (Other locations are Atwater Village and Studio City). Hugo’s is unlike all the other taco stands in Los Angeles. It’s Mexican-American fusion with a simple, straight-forward menu is filled with burritos, Mexican bowls, tortillas (seven different fillings), torta ahogada (Mexican sandwich), and of course tacos. Some of Hugo’s salsas (seven in total) are based on taste memories from the staff, dishes they had while visiting Tijuana or Michoacan and they are the best on town. Plus, most offerings come in vegan and vegetarian options. Hugo’s is offering their breakfast burritos for $3, Monday-Friday from 10 am-11 am. Hugo’s Tacos Woodland Hills is now open from 10 am-10 pm daily.
