Carmela Ice Cream

Carmela, (7920 W 3rd St., Los Angeles, 90048) has opened their second location. Their first location opened just about two years ago in Pasadena, and has been popular ever since.

Carmela Ice Cream’s new location serves the same rotating flavors as their farmers’ market stalls and Pasadena shop. Each day, there are about a dozen flavors ($3.75/scoop), including their standard five: salted caramel, brown sugar vanilla bean, dark chocolate cacao nib and lavender honey. The shop also makes cones fresh daily, right behind the counter, and has both regular and cup cones for an extra $1.

You can also get an ice cream sandwich made to order and pre-packed pints are ready in the freezer out front. You may notice a small selection of cupcakes made by Blue Cupcake. If you want to make cupcake sundae out of flavors like red velvet (with cream cheese frosting), chocolate chocolate and salted caramel, they won’t blink an eye. An espresso maker is on the way, so you can get your caffeine fix at all times of the day. Open Sunday-Thursday, 11 am-9 pm; Friday & Saturday until 10 pm.
