Shore Hotel in Santa Monica welcomes the addition of its first on-property restaurant, Blue Plate Taco, opening this Sunday. The fresh, coastal Mexican restaurant is the third restaurant by Blue Plate dining group with two existing restaurants in Santa Monica. Located next to the pool and facing Ocean Avenue, the restaurant and bar has a mix of indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Blue Plate Taco continues the brand’s dedication to sustainability by using fresh ingredients, locally farmed produce and organic meat products. Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, this casual, beach-style spot serves salads, tacos and grilled seafood and meats. Signature menu options include Lobster Truffle Tacos, Salmon Chilaquiles with salmon belly, shaved egg, ground masa, cilantro, lime paprika and chorizo oil, and choice of nine homemade, inventive salsas. The restaurant has a full mixology program with handmade Agua Frescas—made with daily changing seasonal fruits with flavors including watermelon, strawberry and elderflower; mango and ginger; and prickly pear and hibiscus.
With seating for over 90 guests, Blue Plate Taco was designed by interior designer Tim Clarke to reflect the seaside location and sleek modern exterior of Shore Hotel. The interior of the restaurant showcases the lively, action-filled kitchen with ocean-inspired design elements including decorative ceramic tiles from Spain and France, saddle-leather swing chairs and woven basket chandelier lighting. The restaurant also has a ton of outdoor seating allowing you to enjoy the cool Santa Monica breeze and stunning ocean views.
