The Churchill (8384 W. 3rd. St., Los Angeles, 90048; 323.655.8384) is quickly becoming a Los Angeles staple and I understand why. With a relaxed, unstuffy, vintage vibe this place is great for weekend brunches on their sunny patio (bottomless mimosas anyone?), happy hour at the bar and dinner with friends in one of their many dining rooms. Plus, who doesn’t love a photo booth to round out the evening?
I recently was fortunate enough to munch on a sample menu and it did not disappoint. Some of the favorites they served up were Wild Mushroom Pizza, Cornbread Benedict, Churchill Chili Relleno, The Churchill Burger & Fries, Wild Mushroom Gnocchi and desserts of Ginger-Lemon Curd and Double Chocolate Lava Cake. All the ingredients are grown locally and they make all their own bread too. Overall, they master an elevated comfort food menu and there is something for everyone.
We also sampled cocktails like the Revolver (Fire roasted pepper infused Herra Dana Blanco tequila, hibiscus reduction, agave nectar, lime cassis, xocolati mole) and the Hit & Run (42 Below vodka, muddled cucumber, basil, fresh lime juice, simple syrup). If you like it spicy, order up the Revolver, it’s unlike anything you have tasted and be sure to put The Churchill on your weekly rotation!
