Settebello

Settebello, (625 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, 91101; 626.765.9550) opened last night for dinner. It’s the only Verace Pizza Napoletana certified mini-chain in America, which means imported Caputo 00 flour, San Marzano tomato sauce, hand shaped dough, wood burning oven at 800ºF, etc. Their signature pie is crushed tomatoes, pancetta, roasted fennel sausage, roasted mushrooms, toasted pine nuts, mozzarella, basil, and extra virgin olive oil (notice, no cheese). If cheese is a must do, try the Carbonera with crushed tomatoes, pancetta, egg, fresh mozzarella, basil, parmigiano-reggiano and extra virgin olive oil. They also have salads in their antipasta menu, beer, wine and desserts!

Sit at the bar and have a view of the hand-tiled brick pizza oven. It’s a show and a meal all in one. Currently the restaurant only accepts reservations for parties of six or more and offers one hour of parking validation.
