Larry’s

Larry’s (24 Windward Ave., Venice, 310.399.2700) is a small, beachy gastrobistro featuring a patio with a retractable glass door. They are bringing together art and food, by featuring local artist and food that is $15 or less and hints at a European influence. Named Larry’s, after artist Larry Bell, here you can nosh on Brussels sprout pizza with Benton’s bacon, Parmesan, & chili vinegar; bbq eel & foie gras terrine with Muscat gelee, soy reduction, petite salad & toast; local halibut and scallop ceviche; green grapes and zucchini blossom and shrimp morachas with black vinegar and a green gazpacho topped weith smoked almonds, green grapes, and squid salad that’s been char-grilled. There are 26 draft beers (Green Flash, Old Speckled Hen, Ommegang Hennepin), and soju- and wine-based cocktails like the I Lassi (Muscato, Indian spiced chai, lime, mango) and the Coco Cabana (soju, mint, lime, coconut cream). They are due to open Aug 16th.
