Charlie’s Pantry

The Valley is offering up some brunch-like competition these days. Charlie’s Pantry, (12265 Ventura Blvd., Studio City; 818.509.9140) is a gourmet market/eatery with Parisian panache and it just opened up! Decorated with white subway tile and marble-topped bistro tables, its pretty nondescript, but head over to the glass counter and take a look at the goods.  It is full of crab cakes, salmon filets, Greek meatballs, mac-n-cheese, and other go-to options. On the other hand you can get made-to-order options like, over two dozen salads and sandwiches. (Their fav? Man’s Grilled Cheese, made with rosemary butter and drizzled with a port wine reduction). The all day breakfast menu has crepes stuffed with apples, walnuts, and Swiss cheese, chive French toast with lox and crème fraiche and five varieties of Eggs Benedict.
