Monterey County Heads to Los Angeles

Monterey is heading down to Los Angeles with Yousef Ghalaini from The Bench at Pebble Beach and Tim Wood from Carmel Valley RanchPlus, award-winning sommelier, Ted Glennon is teaming up with Border Grill’s chefs, Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger to bring Monterey’s Fresh Tacos to Border Grill’s Food Truck from Monday, May 19-Friday May 23, from 11 am-2 pm.

The Border Grill Food Trucks will be expanding their menu and serving up signature Monterey Fresh Tacos, using locally sourced ingredients from Carmel Valley Ranch’s on-property garden and local Monterey Country sustainable farms. The signature taco has Monterey Gilroy Garlic Braised Portobello, Honey Garden Cabbage, Pickled Torpedo Onion, Parsnip Chips and Masa Tortillas. 20% of the proceeds of each signature taco will be donated to Share Our Strength, their No Kid Hungry campaign ending childhood hunger in America. On Wednesday May 28, from 10 am-1 pm, enjoy a Taste of Monterey at the Monterey Fresh Farm Stand on Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade (between Wilshire Blvd. and Arizona Ave.). They will be serving up complimentary samples of their signature Monterey Fresh Taco, prepared by chefs Yousef Ghalaini and Tim Wood, using locally sourced, sustainably grown ingredients from Swank Farms in Monterey. There will also be live taco demos and sampling, along with a special appearance at noon from chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger.
