Malibu Creek Trail Run
This is the Grand Mama event and features an 11k that is challenging and on a beautiful course that ends with a single track trail. The 22k goes up Bulldog, but what follows is some of the most amazing scenery in Malibu (Please note that the course closes at 11:30 am, so you must finish before then)! The 6k is a great introductory trail run with single track and fire road trails. 39th Venice Family Clinic’s Art Walk & Auctions
As the largest art walk in SoCal, the event supports Venice Family Clinic’s important role in providing quality health care to people in need. Google’s Venice Headquarters will be transforms into an art gallery for the event and this year honors three world-renowned Venice-based artists: this year’s signature artist Alexis Smith – an LA-based collage and installation artist, who has exhibited extensively from the Whitney to MOCA – along with honorees Sam Durant, renowned for his social artwork and who has a strong personal connection, having once been a beneficiary of the services himself, and Ed Moses, one of the most experimental artists of the last half-century and a former VFCAWA honoree. The fundraiser features exhibitions, studio tours and a silent auction along with engaging community activations from live art exhibits curated by artist Bert Rodriguez to guided art workshops, live music and craft beer & wine garden, dog daycare and bike valet. For a $50 donation, you can enjoy special access to dozens of artists’ studios. This year’s auction will include the works of 250 artists including such luminaries as John Baldessari, Gary Baseman, Ed Ruscha and Alison Saar as well as emerging talent, with the goal of exceeding the $800,000 raised last year. 6th Annual Heritage Music & Arts Festival Returns to Angel City Brewery
The Brewery’s birthday bash will feature a notable line-up of music, a variety of cultural performances and live art, all bundled together in a celebration of this city, the brewery and of course, beer! The music line-up includes performances by The Drizz, Earth Arrow Music, Spaghetti Cumbia and headliner – and Anti Records recording artist – Doe Paoro. There will be a beer garden outside, supporting ArtShare LA, featuring cans of newly released Strawberry Gose, spicy Srirachelada and the brewery’s flagship style – Angel City IPA – which has been on tap since the brewery’s first Heritage Fest six years ago.
