Angel City Brewery Celebrates 1000 Batches with Quadratic Formula
It doesn’t take a mathematician to know that beer + great friends = good times. However, a calculator could come in handy when addressing Angel City Brewery’s newest addition, Quadratic Formula. This Belgian Quadruple beer is a powerful creation brewed to celebrate four years, 1000 batches, 620,000 gallons of beer and copious amounts of good cheer. Started in June, Quadratic Formula was aged for five months to allow the favors to develop. It clocks in at 25 IBUs and an ABV of 12%, and has sweet notes of raisin, plum, molasses and stone fruits that complement the moderately dry finish of this darkly hued aromatic beer. Dark Belgian candi syrup and Belgian candi sugar create a rich warmth that lends a thick chewy mouthfeel which is balanced by a sweet, peppery finish. While the Quadratic Formula is available (there is only one batch, or 5,000 pints!) Angel City Brwery will have a guestbook at the brewery which lists every one of their 1000 batches by name and date. Angel City fans can grab a glass of Quadratic Formula at the Public House, or try it paired with a variety of cheeses at Ale Academy: Guided Cheese and Beer Pairing with Vagabond Cheeses on Monday; 216 S Alameda St, Los Angeles, CA 90012
