Plan Check Kitchen + Bar, (1111 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90017) the modern American comfort food restaurant by Chef Ernesto Uchimura is opening its third location this Monday, in DTLA’s City West district. It has the same look and feel with steel I-beams and road plate countertops, but also some new materials to reflect the location. There’s vintage architectural elements along with polished cement floors, metal barstools, and exposed beams.
In addition to Plan Check’s signature dishes like the Plan Check Burger with ketchup leather, Chef Uchimura will bring new menu that were inspired by his Argentian/Jewish roots and pay homage to the area with Koreatown and East LA near by. You’ll want to get your mouth around the K-BBQ burger with kimcheese (gruyere cheese processed with wine and dried kimchi), gouchujang barbeque sauce, grilled pork belly, sesame salt, fried onions, and sprouting onion. If that’s not your speed, try the meat and potatoes with beef short rib pot roast, caramelized tomato, cauliflower purée, cheesy tots, and flaked wasabi; and spicy tuna salad with sriracha vinaigrette, avocado, puffed rice, sesame, black radish, yellow frisée, nori, and garlic flowers.
Open Sunday – Wednesday, 11 – 12 am, Thursday 11 – 1 am, and Friday & Saturday, 11 – 2 am Friday – Saturday. Happy hour will be daily from 4 – 6 pm and 10 pm – close.
