A Cronuts™ is half croissant, half doughnut and Spudnuts Donuts (8225 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Canoga Park, 91304) in Canoga Park is jumping on this game. Semi Sweet Bakery downtown has their version of a croissant donut hybrid dubbed, called the crullant, and Frances Bakery & Coffee in Little Tokyo has their version made of croissant dough shaped into a donut. Well, Spudnuts now has the doughssant, available Saturdays and Sundays.
The doughssant has been selling out in an hour and a half and management is going to start vending them on Fridays. They are only $3 and come in custard cream filled croissant dough with a Nutella glaze or covered with powdered sugar.
