Manhattan Beach’es newest restaurants comes from proprietor Jed Sanford and chef Tin Vuong (Abigaile in Hermosa Beach and WildCraft Sourdough Pizza in Culver City). The 50-seat, relaxed, Manhattan Beach restaurant little sister (1131 Manhattan Ave., Manhattan Beach, 90266), is actually the little sister of Abigaile.
Expect a combo of spices and flavors from Southeast Asia, French technique, and Dutch and British influences. Bar-wise, Vuong is curating a list of boutique wines from around the word plus craft beer, some from Abigaile’s brewery.
Anthony Agriam of BISHOP PASS, who designed Abigaile, is also behind little sister’s look and feel. It’s modeled after a Singapore shophouse/one-room school house, that is dark with floor to ceiling windows, distressed plaster, and a mix of western and colonial-eastern furniture.
