Sweet Rose Creamery

With the warm SoCal weather, these Ice Cream Pies have become a sweet Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving tradition. There’s a chocolatey Pecan Pie with brown sugar ice cream, a creamy Vegan Pumpkin Pie with dairy-free pumpkin ice cream piled into a gingerbread crust and a salty crumble & caramel-topped Apple Pie. Ice cream pies are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Brentwood Country Mart and Main Street shops through 11/30. Making your own pie? Up your à la mode game with a scoop of Brightland Olive Oil Almond Ice Cream. Sweet Rose Creamery partnered with Brightland for this November flavor collaboration, which features their bright, grassy and slightly floral “Alive” olive oil spun into a rich custard base with Fat Uncle Farms’ almonds, or other seasonal favorites like Buttered Pecan, Caramel Apple Crisp and Dairy-Free & Gluten-Free Pumpkin Ice Cream. Do something different this Thanksgiving, and dine on mouthwatering Thai from TukTuk Thai. Thanksgiving specials Chef Amanda Maneesilasan include Short Rib Massaman Curry and Pad Fak Tong (ground turkey and pumpkin stir fry with fresh chili, Thai Basil, garlic, and egg) will be a welcome break from leftovers while still feeling like fall. Vicini Ristorante & Wine Bar, the West LA concept that pays tribute to Chef Lucio’s childhood with a menu dedicated to celebrating his familial roots from the Veneto region of Italy, is gearing up for Thanksgiving with a curated takeout for those looking to skip the dishes this year and focus on hosting their loved ones at home. Vicini’s takeout menu includes options that serve up to four individuals for $275, or up to eight for $525. Guests can choose between either an Herb-Roasted Turkey Breast or Honey-Roasted Ham as the main event and either a Butternut Squash Soup with herbed crostini or an Autumn Salad with pomegranate, roasted pumpkin, mushrooms, cranberry, and walnuts as the appetizer. Options for up to four sides include Parmesan-Crusted Biscuits with whipped garlic butter, Roasted Autumn Vegetables, Cauliflower Grain, Cranberry and Citrus Relish, Maple Glazed Sweet Potatoes with sage and chestnuts, and much more. All sides are also available à la carte. Turkey Trot

Happy Turkey Day! The 11th annual Turkey Trot Los Angeles will be returning to Downtown Los Angeles on Thanksgiving morning. This year’s event aims to raise $100,000 for those in need for The Midnight Mission. Angelenos ages 2+ are invited to exercise before the big feast with the 5K and 10K Run/Walk courses and half-mile Widdle Wobble for the kids. This year’s event will also debut the inaugural, 1-mile “Dog Jog.” Runners and pets dressed as Thanksgiving turkeys, pilgrims, and pies will start and finish in front of historic Los Angeles City Hall. The route will take them around Grand Park and pass the world-famous Disney Concert Hall, the Broad Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art. $36+; 11/23, 6:30 am – 12:00 pm; 200 N Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90012
