Building Above the Chaos: UNBOXED Group’s Creative Vision

The incredibly talented team at UNBOXED Group, a global luxury event design and production agency, in partnership with Dick Clark Productions, has designed and produced this year’s Golden Globes red carpet under circumstances that would make most production teams break into a cold sweat. This is the same powerhouse behind key Hollywood moments including the premieres of All’s Fair, White Lotus Season 3, and IT: Welcome to Derry.

Kyle Absolom, president and creative director of UNBOXED Group, began designing and producing the 83rd Golden Globes red carpet six months ago, co-designed with Michael Uncapher of Nouvant, an event design studio known for conceptual design of high-profile social events.

With major construction surrounding the Beverly Hills venue—including the Beverly Wilshire and Waldorf Astoria renovations and the rise of One Beverly Hills—UNBOXED faced what could have been an insurmountable obstacle. But what could have been a limitation became an opportunity to reimagine what a red carpet experience could be.

Designing Above It All: A New Era of Red Carpet Architecture

Instead of working around the construction, UNBOXED designed above it. The team created physically elevated arrivals with layered architecture and vertical movement that literally lift talent and press into a more intentional, high-impact experience. This isn’t your traditional flat red carpet—this is sculptural, cinematic, and utterly Beverly Hills in its audacity and elegance.

Every design decision was driven by a forward-looking mindset. The UNBOXED team dove deep into what’s coming next in architecture, fashion, and interior design, using those insights to craft the color story, finishes, and materials that would feel fresh and luxurious.

Fashion-Forward Design Philosophy

UNBOXED worked closely with fashion stylists to align the red carpet environment with the fabrics and tones expected to define 2026. As awards season kicks into full gear and fashion houses debut their most spectacular creations, the environment was intentionally built to enhance fashion, not compete with it. Silhouettes, texture, and color remain the focus while the space itself feels premium, considered, and effortlessly glamorous.

Inspired by the film reel at the heart of the Golden Globes statue, UNBOXED incorporated curved pathways and sculptural forms that introduce rhythm and anticipation. Absolom, who leads with a design-first, production-savvy perspective, has masterfully balanced aesthetic ambition with logistical reality—creating a red carpet that’s not just beautiful, but functional.

Awards Season Excitement Reaches Fever Pitch

As we countdown to Sunday’s ceremony, anticipation is building for every element of the show. With fierce competition across film and television categories, this marks the official kickoff to awards season, setting momentum for the Oscars scheduled for 3/15.

Fashion enthusiasts are already predicting which designers will dominate, while fans place their bets on who will take home the coveted golden statues. And the recently released presenter lineup features everyone from George Clooney and Miley Cyrus to Snoop Dogg, Joe Keery, Colman Domingo, and Heated Rivalry star, Connor Storrie.

And then there’s Nikki Glaser, who made history in 2025 as the first woman to host the Golden Globes solo and earned rave reviews for her sharp wit and fearless humor. Her return performance is one of the most anticipated elements of the evening.

The Beverly Hills Touch: Luxury Meets Innovation

What makes this year’s Golden Globes red carpet particularly special is how it embodies the spirit of Beverly Hills itself—taking a challenging situation and transforming it into something spectacular through creativity and innovation. The construction that could have diminished the experience instead became the catalyst for elevation, quite literally.

This is the kind of visionary thinking that defines Los Angeles entertainment production. UNBOXED Group didn’t just create a red carpet; they created an experience that honors the past, celebrates the present, and looks toward the future.

As the world tunes in this Sunday, viewers will witness not just Hollywood’s biggest stars and most thrilling wins, but a masterclass in design and the kind of creative problem-solving that makes Los Angeles the entertainment capital of the world.

The 83rd Annual Golden Globes airs live Sunday, 1/11, at 8:00 pm ET/5:00 pm PT on CBS and streams on Paramount+.
