Black in Every Color Art Exhibition by Valence Projects Returns to The Andaz West Hollywood

Andaz West Hollywood, the iconic hotel along the famed Sunset Strip, is proud to welcome the return of its partnership with Valence Projects to debut Black in Every Color, a dynamic exhibition celebrating the global voices of the African diaspora. Curated by Josiah David Jones, the exhibition brings together an exceptional group of artists—including Miles Regis, Cortney Herron, Doug Hickman Jr., Johnny Draco, Helen Ifeagwu, Brandon Mathis, Chiphas, Brittney S. Price, Caezar Segun, and Jatairee Hudson Jr.—who explore themes of memory, rhythm, community, and individuality through their work. The collaboration is a natural fit for Andaz West Hollywood, which continues to honor its legacy as a cultural hub on Sunset Boulevard—once home to some of the world’s most influential rock legends—by presenting innovative works that celebrate diversity and foster dialogue. Since its inception, Black in Every Color has supported more than 100 artists worldwide and generated over $400,000 toward the global Black art ecosystem, with previous exhibitions in Tokyo, New York, New Orleans, and Los Angeles, making the Andaz West Hollywood residency its sixth edition and most ambitious iteration to date. On Saturday, 10/18, The Benjamin Hollywood hosts Pat’s King of Steaks, the 95-year-old South Philadelphia institution and inventor of the Philly Cheesesteak. The anticipated, one-day-only martini and cheesesteak collab returns for the second year in a row in partnership with The Chef Assembly. Pat’s third-generation owner Frankie Olivieri and The Benjamin executive chef Hannah Martin-Duarte will be serving cheesesteaks and cheese fries alongside classic martinis from The Benjamin’s bar team. Tickets include a cheesesteak, cheese fries, a martini and a Pat’s King of Steaks x The Benjamin t-shirt. On Saturday, 10/18 and Sunday, 10/19, Ditroit, Enrique Olvera’s taqueria in the Arts District, welcomes beloved chefs Rosio Sanchez of Hija de Sanchez Taqueria in Copenhagen, and Yia Vang of Vinai in Minneapolis for a two-day collaboration. Offerings include an octopus al pastor taco with steamed greens and grilled cheese from Sanchez, and a lamb barbacoa taco with five spice, chilies and lime leaves from Vang. The pop-up is hosted in anticipation of The Chef Assembly on 10/20 where Sanchez and Vang will both participate in panel programming. All proceeds benefit Shay Sharpe’s Pink Wishes (SSPW), a nonprofit supporting young women with stage IV breast cancer and their families through wish granting, scholarships, holiday programs, and day-to-day assistance.
