Hollywood just got a whole lot sweeter! I recently had the most incredible cocktail brunch experience at the newly opened La Nena Cantina, where autumn vibes meet National Honey Month in the most delicious way possible. Hosted by legendary cocktail & spirits guru Paul Zahn, this refined coastal paradise seamlessly blends high-quality, authentic Mexican flavors with effortless California cool. Paul Zahn’s Pomegranate Honey Margarita: Pure Liquid Gold
The star of the show? Paul Zahn’s Pomegranate Honey Margarita, available through 11/1. This masterpiece, crafted with Tequila Corralejo Reposado and Barenjager Honey Liqueur, creates the perfect balance of premium tequila with rich honey sweetness. Every sip captures autumn’s essence while maintaining that perfect margarita we crave.

Fall Flavors With Honey Magic
La Nena’s commitment to National Honey Month extends beyond cocktails into their new fall menu items. The honey-glazed options showcase how this natural sweetener elevates traditional Mexican flavors, creating dishes that feel both familiar and excitingly new.
We started with fresh Guacamole that redefined my guac standards, followed by divine Ceviche Verde showcasing their commitment to authentic flavors. The Vegano Baja Taco with honey-chipotle sauce proved plant-based Mexican cuisine can be incredibly satisfying, while the Grilled Shrimp Tostada Salad offered perfect texture contrasts.
The Salmon Tropical with honey-mango-strawberry sauce embodied California’s fresh, innovative cuisine approach. Dessert was equally impressive – their Churros and Tres Leches Cake provided the perfect sweet ending.

Sunday Mariachi Brunch: A Hollywood Must-Do
What makes La Nena truly special is their weekly brunch buffet featuring a live mariachi band every Sunday from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. There’s something magical about sipping cocktails and enjoying authentic Mexican cuisine while a talented mariachi band fills the space with vibrant music. It captures the joy that makes LA’s dining culture unique.

The brunch buffet format lets you sample multiple dishes and appreciate their culinary range – perfect for groups wanting to try everything while creating that communal experience that makes brunching with friends special.
