Mírate‘s Chef Alan Sanz and team are hosting a one-night-only mezcal tasting dinner in collaboration with Zinacatán Mezcal—a sustainable, woman- and family-owned producer that’s focused on preserving traditional mezcal-making methods using wild and cultivated agaves. Founded in 2019, Zinacantán maestra mezcalera Fabiola Torres Monfil and Co-Founder Diana Pinzon, an ecologist, define Zinacantán as an agroforestry project first and a mezcal brand second. The evening will feature a 5-course menu paired with rare mezcal expressions (many not available in the U.S.), with Zinacatán’s co-founder Diana Pinzon on-site to guide guests through each pour. The Original Farmers Market Presents Altadena Musicians’ Month Celebrating Artists Impacted By The Los Angeles Wildfires

The Original Farmers Market proudly announces this July as Altadena Musicians Month as part of its annual Thursday Night Summer Music Series. All the featured bands have members who were directly displaced or affected by the January wildfires. Instrumental Giving-powered by Altadena Musicians, is the nonprofit partner for the series, and was created in the weeks immediately following the Los Angeles area wildfires. The organization is dedicated to replacing instruments and equipment collections of musicians and industry professionals that lost so much in the fires.  During every performance in July, Instrumental Giving will be onsite collecting donations for their innovative music registry app that connects musicians who lost instruments in the fires with donors who can help replace them. Market guests can also support the cause by shopping at their booth for vinyl records and by making a monetary donation to the nonprofit, as well as the performing bands. The Original Farmers Market will be making a $3,000 donation to Instrumental Giving-powered by Altadena Musicians. Love Isn’t Blind, the nationally-touring comedy/dating show where the men can’t speak is coming to Los Angeles on 7/18. The show is very fun and wild – the host Alli calls the boys’ moms live on stage, searches their phones, and more. People are meeting at the shows across cities; they even have a marriage! Coming Soon (7/19): 2nd Annual Venice Beach Run

Registration is now available for the 2nd annual Venice Beach Run, scheduled for Saturday, 7/19, commencing and concluding at the Venice Beach Pier. The event’s proceeds will support the Los Angeles Parks Foundation, established in 2008 to improve and maintain public parks and recreational areas. Proceeds will specifically aid the Venice Beach Recreation Center to foster health and recreation for the community. Organizations such as the LA Parks Foundation are becoming increasingly important as they work to enhance and conserve parks while promoting vital environmental education. The race is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities and is the the only race that starts and finishes out over the water on the iconic Venice Beach Pier. Participants can sign up for the fast + flat 5K at 8:30 am or the Speedy 1 Miler at 10:00 am, and will receive a commemorative race shirt (with a new design each year!), a custom cinch bag, a die-cast finisher medal, and complimentary downloadable race photos.
