On May 4th, 2024, SHARE, Inc. held their 71st annual Boomtown Gala at The Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel. The annual gala benefits local charities including CASA, Exceptional Children’s Foundation (ECF), Team Primetime, The Art of Elysium, Ahead with Horses, Stuart House, Slavin Special Education Center and Sycamores- Hathaway House.
Led by Natalie Lander, VP of the Boomtown Show; September Sarno, VP of the Boomtown Gala; and Corinna Fields, President of SHARE, the gala included an opening number featuring the members of SHARE singing a modified version of “(Hey) Big Spender” by Cy Coleman with lyrics adjusted to fit the event and encourage donations and laughs! The SHARE ladies also performed in the closing number.
The evening also featured guest performers including singer Terron Brooks, best known for playing Simba in Disney’s The Lion King on Broadway; singer Joseph Leo Bwarie, known for portraying Frankie Valli in the Tony Award-winning musical Jersey Boys on Broadway; actor/singer Garrett Clayton, known for Disney’s Teen Beach series; performer Jon Fiore, who sang classic hits and Sinatra covers; actor/comedian Andrew Leeds, who performed a unique skit and song “Alphabets”; sketch comedy actress Nicole Parker, whose comedy routine included impersonating the likes of Celine Dion and Emma Thompson; and Nita Whitaker, who rose to fame for singing on the original Whitney Houston Demos and recently won an NAACP award for Best Supporting Actress in the Broadway bound musical Born For This.
The silent and live auction featured one of a kind gifts and experiences for bid including luxury travel to places including Tabacan Resort (Costa Rica), The Fontainebleau (Las Vegas) and Sense Porcupine Creek (Rancho Mirage, CA) ; tickets to Hollywood shows including Dancing with the Stars, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune; and unique experiences like a tour of Beverly Hills with celebrity realtor Josh Flagg, VIP golf & lunch, VIP Magic Castle experience and more. Perhaps the most unique live auction item was the chance to play basketball with Shaquille O’Neal. The experience allowed the top bidder to bring along friends, film the experience, and a guarantee that Shaq will let you win!
In customary fashion, the SHARE members wore their western teal blue dress shirts, while guests dressed in dressy western attire. As usual, the outfits did not disappoint!
