This May Be One of the Coolest Pickleball Courts Near Me

Calling all pickleball enthusiasts in Los Angeles (or those curious about trying it)! Forget the stuffy country clubs – pickleball just got a major glow-up at West Hollywood’s Kimpton La Peer Hotel Center Court, “a premier rooftop pickleball paradise.” During the week the Center Court allows hotel guests of all levels to play on the rooftop. On weekends, the property serves up serious summer vibes with their Disco Court, a weekend dayclub for pickleball players. But these aren’t your grandma’s pickleball courts, folks. Think pulsating beats from a live DJ, refreshing cocktails, stunning cityscapes, and energetic competition (or friendly rallies) under the California sun, making it one of the coolest pickleball courts near me. And the best part? Even rookies can get in on the action!

What is pickleball?

Let’s face it, pickleball is everywhere these days. And if you’re like me and had never played or seen it, it’s an addictive blend of badminton, tennis, and ping-pong, that has a much lower impact on your joints than other sports. But low impact does not mean low energy. I recently took my first lesson at the Disco Court and let me tell you, the energy was soaring, and I had an absolute blast!

This sport has captivated players of all ages and skill levels. But if like me, you’ve been hesitant to take the plunge, the Disco Court offers the perfect entry point. The Kimpton La Peer provides a welcoming and fun atmosphere, complete with an expert instructor, Fabio who will school you on all things pickleball. You’ll learn the history of the sport, the basics, drills, and then play an actual game! I may not be heading to the pros anytime soon, but Fabio took a complete novice like me, and turned me into an actual pickleball player! Whether you’re a seasoned picklehead or a complete newbie, the Disco Court caters to everyone.
