Los Angeles is a place where creativity thrives and artistic expression takes center stage. But what if your favorite song could be reimagined not just through melody, but through brushstrokes and sculptures? Enter Song-Word Art House, a unique gallery concept that bridges the gap between music and visual art, offering an experience unlike any other.
Art Inspired by the Lyrics We Love
Co-Founded by Joe Woolf & Liz Woolf, Song-Word Art House isn’t your typical LA art gallery. Here, the muse isn’t a landscape or a historical figure; it’s the power of lyrics. Their mission is to reignite the flame of inspiration within us all by using contemporary fine art to reimagine the songs that have shaped our lives.
A Global Collective of Artistic Interpretations
Curated exhibitions showcase the works of internationally acclaimed artists, each bringing their own unique perspective to the music that moves them. From evocative paintings and captivating sculptures to thought-provoking mixed media installations, the gallery space is a canvas for artistic interpretations of iconic lyrics.
Beyond an Exhibition: A Celebration of Music
The influence of Song-Word Art House extends far beyond the gallery walls. They collaborate with major bands, songwriters, music publishers, record labels, and even hotels to create immersive experiences that celebrate the power of music. Imagine attending an art show inspired by your favorite artist, surrounded by fellow fans and fueled by the very music that binds you together.
Most recently Song-Word Art House featured “Echoes Of The Flame,” a visually stunning and informative exhibition celebrating the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, through original art inspired by his iconic lyrics. Co-curated with Primary Wave and the James Brown Estate, the exhibition featured works by international artists in various mediums, showcasing the enduring power of Brown’s music across funk, soul, and hip-hop. “Echoes Of The Flame,” coincided with the release of the A&E docu-series “Say It Loud!” inspired by the life of James Brown and executive produced by Mick Jagger and Questlove.
Song-Word Art House’s next exhibition “Celeb Pop” (4/5 – 4/14) will feature artworks from Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane), Val Kilmer (The Doors, Top Gun), Shadoe Stevens (DJ, Radio Hall Of Fame) Devon Stanfield, Matt Elson, and ArtNWordz, and more!
More Than Just an Art Gallery, It’s a Community
Song-Word Art House fosters a community of music and art enthusiasts. Their exhibitions become shared experiences, sparking conversations, igniting new interpretations of beloved songs, and ultimately deepening our connection to the music that soundtracks our lives.
